NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2023 Taiwan Design Expo will take place in New Taipei City from Oct. 6 to Oct. 22 for the first time in 21 years.
The expo, co-hosted by the city and the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Industrial Development Bureau, touts over 100 designers who drew inspiration from the area.
The event is spread across five significant sites, such as the New Taipei City Art Museum and the Yingge Ceramics Museum, and will also extend to the city's 29 administrative districts.
New Taipei City's Mayor Hou Yu-ih praised the event's debut in his city as symbolic of Taiwan's diversity and cultural depth.
The expansive exposition includes a "New Taipei Lihe Cultural Travel Mobile Exhibition" comprising 129 routes and 154 events.
"This time, the expo shows the cultural diversity and the urban-rural gap in New Taipei City," said Mayor Hou.
The exhibition, under the theme "New Taipei O Rise Up," embodies the allure of transformable designs and offers an opportunity for visitors to explore and understand the multi-layered culture of New Taipei City.
