TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A naked male hiker armed with a selfie stick was spotted on the Hsiangshan (Elephant Mountain) hiking trail in Taipei's Xinyi District on Sunday (June 25). The man's behavior remains unclear, but local police are investigating the matter, and the man may face a fine for violating public decency.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and appropriateness of the area for families and children. A concerned citizen took to Facebook to warn others about the situation, posting in a Facebook group.

The post cautioned that it might not be suitable for children to hike Hsiangshan that day and included a photo of the naked man as evidence. Residents and trail users expressed shock and disbelief at the man's actions as the news spread.

Upon receiving a report around noon, Xinyi District police officers were dispatched to the scene to search for the man. Despite their efforts, they have yet to be able to locate him.

The naked hiker may face a fine of up to NT$6,000 under Article 83 of the Social Order Maintenance Act for violating public decency.

As the search for the man continues, residents and trail users are left to wonder about the motivations behind his actions and whether he will be apprehended. The Hsiangshan hiking trail in the Xinyi District of Taipei is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

Known for its picturesque views and proximity to the Six Giant Rocks, the trail offers a serene escape from the bustling city. However, the recent incident involving the naked hiker has cast a shadow over the otherwise peaceful trail, leaving many to question the safety and appropriateness of the area for families and children.
