Popular items such as fried chicken buckets, crispy fries, and egg tarts have all been affected. The company remarked that the price hikes were due to the rise of overall operating costs and impacts from the global poultry supply chain.
Egg tarts saw the one of the biggest price increase from NT＄39 to NT＄45, indicating a 15% price hike. Beverages including soft drinks and milk tea have also seen a rise of NT＄3 to NT＄5.
Even so, KFC have simultaneously rolled out set meal discounts, seemingly to soften the blow so that customers may not feel the inevitable price hike as acutely.
