TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei Fubon Braves (臺北富邦勇士) announced the return of Michael Singletary on Friday (Dec. 12). Singletary, a pivotal figure in the Braves' past championship runs, rejoined the team after proving his mettle in leagues across Thailand and Indonesia. The Braves celebrated his comeback as a strategic move to stabilize and energize the team.
Since joining the Braves in 2020, Singletary has become a cornerstone of the team's performance, achieving numerous accolades over four seasons. He secured two Finals MVPs and one scoring title, becoming the first in P. League+ (PLG) history to reach the milestone of 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, and 200 three-pointers. His consistent performance overseas highlighted his enduring value.
Head Coach Wu Yung-Jen (吳永仁) emphasized Singletary's dual role, stating that Singletary provides both technical and emotional support to his teammates on and off the court, helping stabilize the team during uncertain moments. Singletary himself expressed his deep connection with Taiwan, noting that Taiwan has always made him feel at home. He added that from the very first day, the Fubon Braves fans welcomed him and his family with overwhelming warmth and enthusiasm.
