Taiwan's Central Weather Administration (氣象署) issued heavy rain warnings for Taipei City and rain advisories for Keelung City, New Taipei City, and Yilan County, urging residents to brace for intense downpours and strong wind gusts.
Analyst Liao Yu-ting (廖于霆) from WeatherRisk Explore Inc. (天氣風險公司), a private weather forecasting company, warned travelers about treacherous road conditions and reduced visibility in mountainous regions. Central Taiwan from Miaoli to Taoyuan faces predominantly cloudy skies with intermittent showers, while eastern counties Hualien and Taitung encounter increased cloud cover and scattered rainfall.
Southern Taiwan from Taichung (台中) to Pingtung (屏東) enjoys favorable weather conditions, creating optimal holiday destinations for travelers. The Central Weather Administration forecasts the northeast monsoon will weaken slightly Saturday, maintaining cool temperatures across northern and northeastern regions while mountain areas face continued precipitation risks.
The northeast monsoon will strengthen Sunday, delivering cooler temperatures and intermittent showers to northern and northeastern Taiwan. By Tuesday (Oct. 28), meteorologists expect the monsoon to diminish, transitioning the island to high-pressure atmospheric conditions that will bring clearer, drier weather to affected regions. Early November forecasts indicate persistent northern rainfall will subside, with only occasional light precipitation expected.
