TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (中華奧會) and the Sports Administration (運動部) hosted a flag presentation ceremony at the Caesar Park Hotel (凱達大飯店) in Taipei on Wednesday (Oct. 15). Officials encouraged young athletes as they prepare for the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain (第3屆巴林亞洲青年運動會).
The delegation will send 151 athletes, consisting of 69 men and 82 women, to compete in 16 sports. With coaches and staff, the total number of participants will reach 237, highlighting Taiwan's commitment to nurturing young athletes and promoting grassroots sports development.
Lin Hung-tao (林鴻道), chairman of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, noted that this event marks the first sports meet organized by the Sports Administration since its establishment. Lin also invited Dr. Lin Yin-chou (林瀛洲) to serve as the head of the delegation, expressing confidence in his medical expertise to support the athletes.
Lin urged the athletes to embody the spirit of "courage, unity, and glory" to showcase Taiwan's younger generation's confidence and charm to the world. He expressed gratitude to the Sports Administration, the Taiwan Sports Training Center (國訓中心), the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science (運科中心), individual sports associations, and the delegation team for their behind-the-scenes efforts.
