TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Workforce Development Agency (勞動力發展署) celebrated a digital milestone Thursday (Aug. 28) as its ESG Talent Training Centers website surpassed 60,000 views since launching in 2024. The achievement signals surging demand for sustainability expertise across Taiwan's business landscape, where companies increasingly recognize environmental responsibility as essential for future competitiveness. The Taichung-Changhua-Nantou Regional Branch (中彰投分署), which oversees the platform, views this traffic surge as validation of Taiwan's commitment to green transformation initiatives.

Agency officials discovered a critical gap plaguing Taiwan's business sector: while most small and medium-sized enterprises grasp ESG principles and net-zero carbon emission goals, they struggle with implementation due to inexperienced staff. The training centers emerged as a comprehensive solution, launching specialized courses and establishing advisory committees to guide companies through sustainable transformation challenges. These facilities now provide corporate counseling, pre-employment preparation, and workplace training programs designed specifically for central Taiwan's manufacturing hub.

The regional branch unveiled an ambitious September training schedule featuring four specialized sustainability programs. The lineup begins with the "ESG Green Collar Sustainability Talent Training Course" (ESG綠領永續人才訓練班) on Sunday (Sept. 22), followed by carbon footprint auditing workshops on Tuesday (Sept. 24) and management certification classes on Friday (Sept. 27). The comprehensive curriculum culminates with an advanced development course on Wednesday (Oct. 15), designed to transform participants into corporate sustainability leaders.

The agency also launches a pre-employment program targeting Taiwan's growing pool of sustainability-focused job seekers, with the "ESG Sustainable Manager Practical Training Course" (ESG永續管理師實務訓練班) beginning Tuesday (Oct. 1). This comprehensive curriculum joins the agency's integrated online platform, creating a centralized resource hub for professionals seeking green career opportunities. The digital integration represents Taiwan's systematic approach to building a skilled workforce capable of meeting international environmental standards and corporate sustainability demands. ◼
