TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese technology giant Acer (宏碁) has posted its strongest monthly financial performance since late 2022, according to figures released Wednesday (April 9). The computer manufacturer reported March consolidated revenue of NT$29.275 billion (US$887.12 million), representing a dramatic 71.5% surge compared to February figures and a 6.5% increase year-over-year. The robust quarterly performance extended beyond the monthly results, with Acer's first-quarter revenue climbing to NT$61.422 billion (US$1.86 billion), marking a 4.41% improvement compared to the same period last year and reaching its highest first-quarter level in nearly three years.

The company's resurgence has been largely propelled by its educational technology segment, with Chromebook sales delivering exceptional results. This product line saw March revenue jump 59.7% compared to the same month last year, while first-quarter Chromebook performance climbed an impressive 35.2% year-over-year. Acer's diversification strategy also appears to be yielding dividends, with non-PC and display-related businesses accounting for 26.9% of March's total revenue and an even higher 31.7% share for the entire first quarter, reflecting a 12.3% year-over-year growth. The company's artificial intelligence subsidiary, Altos Computing, which specializes in AI servers and workstations, emerged as another bright spot with a substantial 20.1% revenue increase in March.

Amid ongoing concerns about U.S. trade policies and potential tariff impacts on the technology sector, Acer executives highlighted the company's multi-business engine strategy as a key stabilizing factor. In its financial statement, the Taiwanese manufacturer emphasized its commitment to maintaining close collaboration with both customers and supply chain partners. The company indicated it would continue monitoring market conditions, including consumer demand patterns, competitive landscapes, and product portfolio performance, to determine appropriate strategic adjustments as necessary.
