TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A January survey from yes123 revealed that 95% of workers in Taiwan are considering changing jobs after the Lunar New Year, reaching a 16-year high. Key reasons for this trend include dissatisfaction with salary, limited career growth, and repetitive tasks.

Chin Hung-chuan (金宏權), a seasoned recruitment executive, stressed the importance of proactive talent management. Companies often engage in interviews to discuss career development and project assignments for the coming year, aiming to foster employee loyalty.

Human resources experts suggest that customizing career plans can further enhance employee retention. Offering performance bonuses or annual retention contracts are strategies that could help retain key talent.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs suggests that unmet physiological needs, safety needs, and self-actualization can prompt employees to leave. Li Tsung-hua (李宗樺), another human resource consultant, supports tailored career paths and internal entrepreneurship to meet employees' self-actualization needs.

As competition in the labor market intensifies, experts urge companies and managers to develop effective strategies for retaining talent. Without taking action, they risk losing their top employees.
