TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Bureau of Labor Insurance (勞保局) announced the early disbursement of various annuities to over 3.96 million people on Monday (Jan. 20). Originally scheduled for monthly distribution starting on the Jan. 25, these funds will now be deposited between Wednesday and Friday.
The bureau made the announcement ahead of the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday, aiming to provide financial relief during the holiday season. The decision to advance the payments, including labor insurance, disaster insurance, and national insurance pensions, also aims to ensure citizens can enjoy a stress-free celebration.
Meanwhile, the farmers' allowance was distributed early Monday. The bureau estimates that nearly 3.96 million people will benefit from the policy, with 1.92 million receiving labor insurance pensions. Each recipient will receive an average of nearly NT$19,200 (US$585.63), alleviating some financial pressure for the New Year's expenses.
The bureau also urges citizens to monitor their account transactions closely as many have returned to their hometowns for family reunions. They extend their wishes for a safe and joyful New Year, encouraging everyone to ensure their funds are deposited smoothly, welcoming a fresh start to the year.
