TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) announced Thursday (Jan. 9) that the Taipei City Government aims to secure Nvidia's overseas headquarters in the city. Since last year, the government has formed a cross-departmental team, personally overseen by Chiang, to maintain close contact with Nvidia. The city government believes Taipei offers convenient transportation, excellent living conditions, and abundant talent, making it an ideal choice for international headquarters.
Chiang emphasized the city's strong welcome for international companies like Nvidia to establish headquarters in Taipei. He also expressed a willingness to personally guide Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) around the city. Analysts suggest that while Taipei is a prime choice for international companies, the former First Funeral Parlor (一殯) site is too small. They recommend the Nangang Marshalling Yard (南港調車場) due to its proximity, just a 5-minute drive from Nvidia's Taipei R&D center.
