TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Media reported on Friday (Dec. 20) that free agent Chen Tzu-hao (陳子豪) from the Chinatrust Brothers (中信兄弟) might join the Wei Chuan Dragons (味全龍隊) with a potential 10-year contract, including options and escape clauses. Chen, who exercised his free agency rights after this season, has attracted bids from multiple teams and reached a preliminary agreement with the Dragons.

Chen, 29, joined the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職棒) in 2013 as part of the first batch of high school draftees. He reached the peak of his career by achieving free agency status. This season, Chen played 87 games for the Chinatrust Brothers, recording 83 hits, including 17 home runs, and contributing 60 RBIs with a batting average of .276 over 301 at-bats.

Four players exercised their free agency rights this offseason, with their futures now settled. Chen Yun-wen (陳韻文) will remain with the UNILIONS (統一獅), Chan Tzu-hsien (詹子賢) will stay with the Chinatrust Brothers, while Chu Yu-hsien (朱育賢) and Chen Tzu-hao will move to the Wei Chuan Dragons.
