TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Minister of Labor announced on Wednesday (Dec. 4) that the Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) has reopened the investigation into the suicide case of a civil servant at its Northern Branch. Labot Minister Hung Sun-han (洪申翰) stated that he would lead the investigation team and expect to release a report next week, confirming that the ministerial hotline had indeed received messages regarding the incident.
The Legislative Yuan's Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee (衛環委員會) invited Hung to present a special report on the branch workplace bullying and harassment incident and discuss measures to improve complaint channels. Hung, speaking to the media before the meeting, emphasized the new composition of the investigation team. "I am the convener of the investigation team, and I will be responsible for this report," he reassured.
Hung revealed that the investigation will now include interviews with employees at various levels of the Northern Branch, encouraging voluntary feedback to enhance the investigation's comprehensiveness. He confirmed that the ministerial mailbox and hotline have received numerous messages from grassroots employees, providing reminders and suggestions.
Relevant messages concerning the Northern Branch incident will be referred to the investigation team, while broader feedback will be forwarded to appropriate departments.
