TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A WeatherRisk analyst warned on Wednesday (Nov. 27) that a pattern of dry and cold weather will dominate Taiwan in the coming days, causing temperatures to drop below 10 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Saturday morning.

Wu Sheng-yu (吳聖宇) predicted stronger cold air will arrive, and the coldest period will likely occur later this week. Areas from Tainan (台南) northward to Yilan (宜蘭) may experience temperatures below 10°C in open areas, while some urban regions might see temperatures around 10°C.

According to Wu, the temperature is expected to rise starting Dec. 1, and this relatively warmer phase may persist until Dec. 5. However, he pointed out that continental high pressure from the north will continue moving southeast, although its path remains more easterly.

Wu further explained that slightly stronger cold air might move south after Dec. 6, leading to a downward trend in overall temperatures. However, he noted this wave may not bring temperatures as low as the current one. He advised monitoring the situation as it develops.
