TAINAN (TVBS News)—Tainan City is gearing up for the completion of the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Training Centers (亞太國際棒球訓練中心). The main stadium is set to finish construction in January 2025 and open by mid-February.
This project, which began on Sept. 28, 2020, aims to enhance the city's sports infrastructure and attract international baseball teams. Upon completion, the stadium will transition to an operator commissioned by the city's Bureau of Sports, ensuring smooth operations for the center.
The Bureau of Sports, Tainan City Government (台南市府體育局), told Central News Agency (中央社) that the stadium's final touches are underway. These include interior renovations, installation of mechanical and air conditioning systems, and construction of outdoor landscapes and parking facilities. The stadium will also feature new grass, seating, safety pads, protective nets, and bullpens, with a completion target of Jan. 10, 2025.
The stadium has already served as the spring training base for Taiwan's Uni-President Lions this year. In 2025, Korea's Lotte Giants (樂天巨人棒球隊) and NC Dinos (NC恐龍隊) will also utilize the facility for their spring training, fostering international exchange and collaboration.
