TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC, 交通部) announced on Wednesday (Nov. 13) that it will host its annual investment conference on Nov. 27. The event will present a record-breaking NT$287.1 billion in opportunities for private investment and procurement, spread across 62 projects.
The MOTC has expanded its focus from traditional road and rail projects to include Taiwan Railways, high-speed rail, and highway stations. The ministry's efforts aim to integrate local development and national tourism policies through complex development projects.
This year's conference highlights six key projects, totaling NT$39.274 billion, such as the "Tainan Station Urban Core Development Plan" (台鐵臺南車站城中樞紐開發計畫) and various BOT (or ROT) projects in the "Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area in Pingtung County" (屏東縣大鵬灣風景特定區).
The event will feature 14 investment booths from various agencies, including those under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (經濟部). Chunghwa Telecom (中華電信) will join the platform, showcasing AI application services. The telecom company hopes to enhance infrastructure and service efficiency through on-site AI technology demonstrations
