TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA, 經濟部) on Monday (Nov. 11) confirmed that SpaceX has no plans to relocate from Taiwan, dispelling recent online rumors. Officials emphasized Taiwan's flexibility in handling U.S.-China tech tensions and geopolitical challenges, ensuring no production shifts occur and short-term political factors do not disrupt supply chain cooperation.
The ministry highlighted Taiwan's critical role in the global supply chain, especially semiconductors and electronic components. Since 2021, Taiwan has supported 30 system and component companies in developing satellite ground equipment products, aiming to secure global supply chain partnerships.
Taiwan's 46 electronic component companies supply not only SpaceX but also serve other international satellite, land telecommunications operators, and equipment manufacturers. This diverse client base showcases Taiwan's robust industry capabilities and strategic importance in the global tech ecosystem.
