TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT, 國民黨) Chairman Eric Chu (朱立倫) expressed his well-wishes for the election results on Wednesday (Nov. 6) and announced plans to send a delegation to Washington, D.C., later this week. Chu emphasized the KMT's commitment to collaborating with the Democratic and Republican parties, highlighting the U.S.' pivotal role in the democratic camp.
Chu confirmed that Vice Chairman Andrew Hsia (夏立言) and International Affairs Director Alexander Huang (黃介正) will visit Washington, D.C., in two days. Hsia and Huang plan to discuss with critical figures in the U.S. government, Congress, and think tanks and initiate contact with potential new administration members.
Chu aims to maintain the KMT's close cooperation and ties with the U.S. through this visit.
