TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Election Commission (CEC, 中央選舉委員會) on Thursday (Sept. 12) announced that the "Taiwan Election Features Exhibition" (台灣選舉特色展) aims to deepen Taiwan's democratic soft power by showcasing its comprehensive election system to international guests.
From Sept. 10 to Sept. 14, Taiwan is hosting the Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA, 亞洲選舉官署協會) general assembly. The CEC is organizing the exhibition during this period.
The exhibition highlights critical aspects of Taiwan's election system, including "well-managed polling stations." This segment demonstrates how Taiwan standardizes procedures to enhance voter trust and ensure a high-quality voting experience on election day.
The second central theme, "Election Advocacy," showcases how the commission combines traditional and social media to encourage voter turnout. In recent years, face-to-face outreach has been emphasized to ensure voters receive election information through various channels.
The commission noted that the third theme, "Election Inclusivity," displays Taiwan's efforts in gender equality, diverse ethnic participation, accessible voting environments, and multilingual election information. The measures ensure that all voters, including new residents and individuals with disabilities, receive equal information and quality services to participate in elections.
The final theme, "Election Aesthetics," emphasizes the design of election information to enhance readability and comprehension. The commission highlighted that Taiwan's election aesthetics project received recognition from the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB, 世界選舉機關協會) this year.
The Central Election Commission hopes the exhibition will facilitate electoral exchanges with other countries, share Taiwan's election experiences, and demonstrate how a comprehensive election mechanism promotes a political environment where all citizens can express their valid will.
