TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (桃園國際機場) experienced a brief power outage early Tuesday (July 9), disrupting flight information displays and leaving passengers unable to check boarding details. The Taoyuan International Airport Corporation confirmed the outage occurred during routine electrical maintenance.
The power interruption began at 3:12 a.m. and lasted for one minute, but some flight information screens remained nonfunctional. The airport corporation stated they and maintenance contractors immediately addressed the issue, restoring all systems by 7:12 a.m.
Passengers reported that screens in the waiting area also failed. Upon inquiry, service desk staff informed them about the scheduled power system reboot during the early hours.
The airport corporation said it notified on-site units within the maintenance area three days before. The corporation also assured that the maintenance was part of regular operations and aimed to ensure the reliability of the airport's electrical system.
