TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Sports Administration (體育署) will announce the Taiwanese team for the Paris Olympics on Thursday (July 4) in the afternoon. The list will likely include Angie Coe (韓安齊), a Taiwanese-American swimmer making her Olympic debut. Coe aims to enjoy the Olympic atmosphere and perform her best.

Eddie Wang Kuan-hung (王冠閎), known as the "Taiwanese Butterfly King," qualified for the Olympics by meeting the A standard. In contrast, no Taiwanese female swimmer met the A standard, allowing Coe to secure a spot through a recommendation. Coe earned this opportunity by breaking national records in the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly at the National Chung Cheng Cup Championship (全國中正盃錦標賽), making her Taiwan's highest-ranked female swimmer.

The Chinese Taipei Swimming Association (CTSA, 中華民國游泳協會) proposed Coe's name, which the Sports Administration and National Sports Training Center (國訓中心) confirmed. Currently studying at the University of Texas at Austin, Coe has realized her childhood dream of competing in the Olympics. She will participate in the women's 200-meter individual medley.
