KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — The 2024 Taiwan Culture Technology Conference (TTXC, 台灣文化科技大會) is set to take place from Oct. 12 to 27 at The Pier2 Art Center (駁二藝術特區) in Kaohsiung, with the main visual unveiled on Thursday (June 27). This year's conference, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Kaohsiung City Government, will focus on the latest trends in cultural technology, continuing the AI fever with a central theme of "Game."
The 2024 TTXC will spotlight gaming entertainment, virtual idols, and tech art. The conference integrates unique Kaohsiung events, including Asia's largest XR film festival, the Kaohsiung Film Festival, and the Takao Rock Festival (Takao Rock打狗祭). It spans exhibitions, film and television, music, technology, and industry, allowing the public to welcome cultural technology through exhibition interactions, music videos, and forum exchanges.
Minister of Culture Li Yuan (李遠) said that Taiwan is at the center of the global semiconductor supply chain, and an increasing number of cultural workers are beginning to combine AI and XR technologies to create new forms of artistic expression.
TTXC was first held in Kaohsiung in 2023. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) noted that TTXC's decision to return to Kaohsiung in 2024 recognizes the city's advantages in the tech industry and integrates iconic cultural events.
As the opening event of TTXC, the Takao Rock Festival will take place from Oct. 11 to 13. This year's performance scale will surpass previous years, with an expected six main stages, three collaborative stages, and over 60 groups of domestic and foreign creative singers and bands participating.
