TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) humorously showcased her retirement plans on Threads this Thursday (June 14), sharing a candid photo where she was cleaning wall stains with a toothbrush.
Her caption read: "Working on interior design after retirement. Still working hard..."
Meanwhile, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) spoke at the Taiwan International Interior Design Expo 2024 (2024台灣國際室內設計博覽會) a day earlier, lauding Taiwan's influence in interior design which now integrates smart, green, energy-saving features, along with elements that reduce carbon and enhance health.
"It's worth understanding," she remarked.
Also, Hsiao emphasized the expo's pet-friendly designs and expressed pleasure over the inclusion of cat door designs.
Event organizer Chen Jung-yu (陳榮譽) referenced Tsai's past declaration about her post-presidency ambitions, asking Hsiao to remind Tsai of her interest in interior design, first mentioned four and a half years ago.
Hsiao playfully noted Tsai's potential in designing pet-friendly spaces, responding to Tsai's Threads post with light-hearted approval.
