TAINAN (TVBS News) — Tainan's young farmer, Lin Wei-hsun, announced on Tuesday (April 29) that he won a gold medal at the world-renowned Marmalade Awards in the United Kingdom.
The Tainan City Government Agriculture Bureau and the Liouying Farmers' Association will publicly commend Lin on Friday (May 3).
Lin said the competition was held at the Grade I listed Dalemain Mansion in the Lake District in northwest England. Each year, nearly 4,000 jars of marmalade from around the world, including the United States, New Zealand, South Korea, Botswana, Japan, Australia, and Brazil, participate in the competition.
The young farmer pointed out that he traveled from Tainan to the UK to compete and won the world gold medal through his efforts. He hopes that a very small, lightweight jar of marmalade can also let the world see Taiwan.
