TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) confirmed a strong continental cold air mass affecting northern Taiwan on Tuesday (Feb 27), resulting in a chilly day.
The CWA issued low-temperature forecasts for nine places, including Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Lianjiang County earlier that day, indicating possible continuous temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius.
Northern Taiwan will remain cold for the entire day due to the persistent influence of the intense continental cold air mass, the CWA said.
Meanwhile, other areas on the island will also experience cooler mornings and evenings, with more comfortable temperatures during the day.
Central and northeastern Taiwan were generally between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius this morning, with the lowest temperature of 10.3 degrees Celsius recorded in Miaoli County's Sanwan Village.
Daytime high temperatures are forecasted to be between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius in northern and northeastern regions, while other areas can expect temperatures between 19 and 26 degrees Celsius.
