TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Control Yuan on Tuesday (Feb. 27) unveiled details of President Tsai Ing-wen's financial holdings in its latest asset declaration, dated Nov. 1, 2023.
Tsai's total deposits amount to NT$62.98 million, an increase of NT$3.54 million from her previous declaration.
She owns nine untrust properties in Taipei's Wenshan, Neihu, Zhongshan, and Shilin districts and in the Banqiao district of New Taipei City, all of which were inherited. In addition, the president has a structure in Zhongshan district.
Tsai has entrusted four parcels of land and two structures in Taipei's Songshan and Da'an districts and in New Taipei City's Yonghe district to a trust.
She holds the copyright to two books, "Stir-fried Onion and Egg to Tsai Ing-wen's Bento" (洋蔥炒蛋到小英便當) and "Ing Faction: Lighting Up Taiwan's Path Ahead" (英派:點亮台灣的這一哩路), but no value could be estimated for them.
As for her 2020 campaign subsidies, Tsai has delegated their management to Shuang Bang Law Firm. As of Nov. 1, 2023, the account held NT$88.36 million, down NT$6.15 million from her previous filing.
