Businesses are also getting creative. Some are selling faux gold bars that act as cash dispensers, releasing a string of banknotes when used. "We’ve sold over 200 of them since January," said a business owner.
In the Year of the Dragon, bookstores are offering a modern twist with Japanese-style red packets featuring cartoon dragon images. These depart from the traditional red color, catering to contemporary tastes.
For those preferring traditional designs, there are options like red packets with local Taiwanese motifs or Spring Couplets with auspicious phrases.
From Feb. 8 to 14, markets across Taiwan are bustling with festive energy, selling a range of New Year goods and providing a unique Lunar New Year experience.
