TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The first rays of the New Year's Day sunrise will illuminate the Sanxiantai Recreation Area in Taitung County on Jan. 1 (Mon.), starting at 6:10 a.m., with the full sunrise scheduled at 6:34 a.m.
In Taimali Township's Millennium Dawn Memorial Park, the dawn will break at 6:11 a.m., and a full sunrise will appear at 6:35 a.m. The Sanxiantai Recreation Area will not host specific New Year's Day activities, but tourists are welcome to savor the stunning natural scenery and the sunrise.
The Chenggong Township Office plans a sunrise walk event, commencing from Chenggong Elementary School at 6:00 a.m. Participants will cover a 4-kilometer distance to Sanxiantai's parking lot in approximately 50 minutes.
Despite 23 consecutive years without a sunrise sighting, Taimali remains a favored spot for sunrise enthusiasts since its dawn event in 2000.
While the Millennium Dawn Memorial Park in Taimali undergoes renovations and won't hold a dawn event this New Year's Day, it remains open to visitors eager to welcome the new year.
