TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an emphasized his administration's policy accomplishments on Monday (Dec. 25), praising the public's contribution to making Taipei a globally recognized city.
Speaking at first year in office press conference at the Taipei Dome, he said: Our policies started with simplicity, rooted in the needs of our citizens. By empathizing with people's experiences, we've crafted effective policies that address their daily concerns."
He highlighted three key areas of his leadership: sustainability, youth entrepreneurship, and urban planning, celebrating recent policy breakthroughs.
Chiang acknowledged Taiwan's industrial challenges, particularly talent drain. In response to Tesla CEO Elon Musk's criticism of Taiwan's electric vehicle industry, Chiang pledged to cultivate a competitive talent pool in Taipei.
Chiang emphasized the importance of integrating AI for Taipei's smart city development, stating, "Our deliberate policies align with our smart city vision, and I hope our innovative efforts will enhance Taipei's international standing."
In conclusion, Chiang outlined Taipei's future policy objectives, focusing on safety, sports, and advanced technologies.
"We are dedicated to establishing Taipei as a secure, sports-oriented city, integrated with cutting-edge technologies. With everyone's support, we are making strides toward achieving these three visions for Taipei," he said.
