KEELUNG (TVBS News) — Keelung residents quickly snapped up the city's year-end concert tickets when district offices began distributing them at 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 7). The concert, scheduled for Dec. 23 at the Keelung Gymnasium, has just 6,143 seats available. Each district office had 680 tickets to offer to the public.

Eager citizens, many senior residents among them, began queueing as early as 5:30 a.m. to obtain tickets for their families, with a limit of four tickets per person. The allocation of 680 tickets per district office ran out swiftly, reflecting the high demand for the much-anticipated event.

Keelung City Mayor George Hsieh decided to move the festivities indoors this year, breaking with the tradition of open-air New Year's Eve concerts that were often marred by rainy weather.

Promising an evening of entertainment, the concert will be hosted by Daniel Chen, Lin Yu-Pin, and Haze Chen. The lineup boasts seven acts, including Amber An, 911, Ailing Tai, Kimberley Chen, U:NUS, NEXT GIRLZ-CRYXTAL, and pianist Hsu Che-cheng.

The decision to provide an indoor venue not only offers a reprieve from the unpredictability of the weather but also ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all attendees as they celebrate the end of the year with fanfare.
