TAIPEI (TVBS News) — In the midst of Taiwan's intensifying political campaign, a new TVBS poll released on Monday (Nov. 27) reveals that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te and his running mate Hsiao Bi-khim are leading with 34% of voter support.

The poll also shows the Kuomintang (KMT) candidates Hou Yu-ih and Jaw Shaw-Kong, forming the "Hou-Kong ticket," have experienced a significant rise, gaining 5 percentage points since October, reaching 31% and placing them closely behind Lai and Hsiao.

However, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) candidates Ko Wen-je and Wu Hsin-ying, known as the "Ko-Ying ticket," have seen a decline in support, falling 6 percentage points to 23%. This drop indicates a potential split in the KMT-TPP election coalition, possibly impacting Ko's popularity.

Voter enthusiasm appears to be growing, with 86% of those surveyed expressing their intention to vote, an increase from the 80% reported in October. While a small portion remains undecided at 5%, those firmly not planning to vote constitute 9% of the respondents.
