TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The National Taiwan University (NTU) announced on Monday (Nov. 13) a proposal for a new undergraduate semiconductor program, which already has been submitted to the Ministry of Education for review.
Set to launch in 2024, the program aims to enroll around 50 to 60 students annually, primarily from international backgrounds, according to NTU President Chen Wen-chang.
Chen also shared that a renovated building at NTU's Shuiyuan Campus is designated for the semiconductor major students. Additionally, Chen revisited the deferred proposal for an "International Political Economy Institute." He envisions establishing this institute at the refurbished Downtown Campus on Xuzhou Road.
A university-wide meeting, scheduled for Dec. 23, will focus on discussing the institute, facilitating dialogue, and addressing concerns related to its establishment.
