TAIPEI (TVBS News) — NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang spoke highly of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) founder Morris Chang on Thursday (Nov. 9), stating that without the foundation laid by the world's biggest chipmaker, his company would not exist.
In his speech, the NVIDIA founder highlighted that TSMC manufactures advanced chips, constantly innovating and pushing the limits of physics, and described Chang as the "Godfather of Technology" in Taiwan.
Chang was presented with the KT Li Award earlier that day, with President Tsai Ing-wen in attendance to congratulate him personally.
Traveling with his wife from the U.S. to attend the momentous event, Huang recalled his first encounter with Chang, and admitted to feeling tense, noting he was in his early thirties back then.
He further emphasized the profound effect TSMC has had on NVIDIA, supporting its ever-changing requirements.
