TAIPEI (TVBS News) — National Taiwan University (NTU) has dropped from its 19th position in 2023 to 21st in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in Asia released on Thursday (Nov. 9), with China's Peking University maintaining its top position.
Two other listed Taiwanese universities also slipped in the ranking, with National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) falling from 36th to 41st, while National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) slipped one spot to land at 39th.
The top ten universities of the QS Asia rankings were Peking University, Hong Kong University, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Beijing's Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Yonsei University, Korea University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The QS World University Rankings are influential in the global academic world, serving as a pointer for potential students and educational policymakers.
