TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Labor Minister Hsu Ming-chun stated on Wednesday (Nov. 1) that the ministry's Workforce Development Agency (WDA) is evaluating a report related to introducing foreign workers into the hospitality sector.

The Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) pointed out on Tuesday that it had completed an "Assessment Report on the Introduction of Foreign Workers in the Hospitality Industry," and has sent it to the Ministry of Labor (MOL).

Hsu indicated that the WDA is currently reviewing the report and is expected to complete its evaluation by Dec., with decisions regarding the introduction and number of foreign workers still to be discussed at future meetings.

The labor minister reaffirmed that the MOL would continue to communicate and coordinate with the Tourism Bureau, MOTC, while expressing hopes to offer relevant information by following instructions and proposal procedures from the Executive Yuan on the issue.
