TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Jason Communications (JYES, 傑昇通信) has estimated an impressive leap in Apple's total sales, with roughly 160,000 units sold in Taiwan following the heated launch of iPhone 15 last month; that is more than double the amount from the previous month.
According to findings of an analysis report on Monday (Oct. 24), Apple has ascended as the top smartphone player following the release of the new iPhone, boasting a 47.7 percent market share in 2023.
This surge in sales comes at the expense of other brands like Samsung from South Korea, which now sits at a market share of 22.9 percent, while Chinese smartphone giant OPPO records at 10.3 percent.
In addition, Apple's bestseller iPhone 15 Pro Max saw a strong market demand, which outstripped supply upon its initial release and continues to be in shortage this month.
The arrival of the new iPhone deeply affected the global smartphone market; nevertheless, Samsung topped the spot as the largest competitor in the Android market, maintaining a formidable share of 22.9 percent.
