TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A top executive from the Fubon Group (富邦集團) remarked on Friday (Nov. 15) that Trump's presidency brings an "unpredictable future," which could have both positive and significant effects. Daniel Tsai (蔡明忠), chairman of the Fubon Group, received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at National Taiwan University (國立台灣大學) during its 96th-anniversary celebration in recognition to his contributions to the industry.

Tsai shared insights on the potential impact of former U.S. President Donald Trump's return to the White House. He noted that the recent U.S. election focused on inflation and the economy, highlighting that economic issues were the primary reason for the election results. Tsai added that Americans' dissatisfaction indicates a widening wealth gap.

Reflecting on Taiwan's position, Tsai emphasized the need for local politicians to consider the implications of Trump's return, as it may signify a shift in voters' perspectives on national and global matters. He pointed out that Taiwan, a beacon of democracy like the U.S., should reflect on these changes. Looking ahead, Tsai described Taiwan as a global technology hub amid the rise of artificial intelligence.

He cited NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's (黃仁勳) comment that Taiwan is central to the "AI ecosystem." Tsai stressed that Taiwan must respect itself to earn international respect and should showcase its best to the world.
