TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Temperatures in Taiwan are expected to cool slightly over the next ten days, according to meteorologist Chia Hsin-hsing on Monday (Oct. 16).
In a Facebook post, Chia wrote that the weather will remain stable from Wednesday (Oct. 18) to Friday (Oct. 20). However, southern Taiwan should be aware of the potential buildup of air pollutants due to being downwind.
He added that an intensifying Northeast monsoon on Friday night could result in a temperature drop of 3-5 degrees Celsius.
In the same post, Chia provided the details of the weather in the following days: On Tuesday, Pingtung may see sporadic rainfall.
From the night of Friday to Saturday, the Northeast monsoon could affect areas north of Taoyuan and Yilan, with local regions possibly experiencing rain.
Moreover, daytime temperatures on Friday and Saturday are also predicted to be 3 to 5 degrees cooler than the average.
For next week, Chia forecasted that sporadic, brief rainfall will occur in Yilan, Chiayi, and Tainan mountainous areas from Sunday to next Monday.
However, he wrote that the weather on Oct. 24 and 25 is expected to return to stable and clear conditions.
