TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — In celebration of Taiwan's Double Tenth National Day, Taoyuan Metro unveiled a new themed train on Sunday (Oct. 8), which will run until Nov. 30 this year.
To create an immersive festive atmosphere, visitors traveling to Taoyuan International Airport will be greeted by an Instagrammable wall. Also, a six-meter-long national flag visual display adorns the MRT Laojie River Station, according to Taoyuan Metro Company.
Cheng Po-ting, the planning director of Taoyuan Metro, highlighted a unique feature at the A13 Airport Terminal 2 station. "A wall display themed 'The Glorious October in Taoyuan' (光輝十月榮耀桃園) is available for the public to check in on social media," he said.
"The design of the train is blue, with touches of red stripes to reflect the color palette of the national flag," said Jamie Chiu, the designer of the painted train project. "It will create the effect of a fluttering flag as the train moves."
This initiative, led by the Taoyuan City Government and managed by the Taoyuan Metro Company, marks the commencement of National Day celebrations, with station decorations running through the end of the month.
