TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih expressed his eagerness to push for "blue and white cooperation" on Monday (Oct. 1).
He said he tried reaching out to Ko Wen-je more than once via phone calls last night and this morning, but unfortunately, he received no response.
Chen Chih-tsuan, spokesperson for Ko's campaign office, explained that Ko had been in the United States recently and misplaced his cell phone at San Francisco International Airport on Oct. 3, Pacific Standard Time.
The loss was discovered when he returned to Taiwan; Ko has already received a replacement handset.
Hou Yu-ih believes proper communication should be fostered to reach mutual grounds and core values. He hopes discussions should focus on strategies to integrate efforts and face future challenges.
Furthermore, Hou detailed a specific meeting format in which his campaign office and the KMT would send a representative.
He suggested that the Taiwan People's Party should also send two representatives to talk to promote "blue and white cooperation" actively.
