TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei's City Fire Department's 1st Headquarters partnered with National Chengchi University on Monday (Sept. 4) for fire safety and CPR training sessions.
The two-day program, with another scheduled for Friday (Sept. 8), consists of six such sessions in total.
The training classes are expected to provide all students, including 400 international students, with the requisite skills to protect themselves and potentially save lives during emergencies.
As the city's fire department flagged cardiac arrest as a significant public health concern, they hope everyone can be equipped with CPR skills.
Moreover, the fire department emphasized the importance of residential safety, urging students who live off-campus to regularly check their smoke detectors, familiarize themselves with fire safety norms, and practice safe usage of electricity and fire.
