KINMEN, Taiwan (TVBS News) — Foxconn Founder Terry Gou delved into topics regarding AI and cross-strait issues during a lecture at Kinmen's National Quemoy University on Wednesday (May 31).
Gou first pointed out that as the use of artificial intelligence is increasing in our everyday lives, Taiwan has the potential to become one of the leading figures in "AI" across Asia.
The business tycoon pointed out that AI can help to optimize business from Taiwan's medical and healthcare system to the financial sector and supply chains.
He also advised university students regarding their future paths, encouraging them to gather as much information as possible to keep up with the changes.
"I always say to succeed in anything, you need strategy, determination, and methodology," Gou said.
The businessman also touched on cross-strait issues, remarking that Kinmen's geographical location makes it an important strategic position.
"Kinmen has historically been a frontline in times of war," Gou said, "but today, we aim to ensure that Kinmen undergoes a peaceful transformation into a technological island devoid of conflict."
He added that Kinmen could be the perfect place for Taiwan and China to hold peace talks and other discussions.
