SHANGHAI (TVBS News) — Former Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou arrived in Shanghai on Wednesday (April 5) as he headed to the Yangshan Port, one of the last travel destinations on his 12-day-long China journey.
Before he departed from Chongqing, the ex-President received a warm farewell from Chinese officials at the airport.
Officials also seemingly upgraded his travel accommodations, blocking civilians from booking business class seats where Ma would be seated, allowing him the utmost comfort on the short flight.
Ma will visit the Yangshan Port, which many Taiwanese officials toured in the past, including former Taipei City mayor Ko Wen-je.
The destination is touted as the "super port" once envisioned by the Republic of China's founding father, Sun Yat-sen.
