CAYO, Belize (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen visited a sheep and goat breeding project in the Cayo District of central Belize on Monday.
The sheep and goat breeding project is co-funded by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) and the Belizean government.
The project aims at assisting small farmers in Belize to improve goats' breeding.
Tsai has visited Belize and Guatemala to strengthen ties with the countries as Taiwan's diplomatic allies dwindled.
Tsai's trip to Central America came a week after Honduras announced to cut ties with Taiwan and formed diplomatic relations with China.
