TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — Taiwan's military showcased its new actual combat shooting training on Tuesday (Feb. 21) at the Taoyuan Army base, with foreign media also in attendance.
The training, which previously only included prone shooting, now involves standing, prone, and kneeling positions to better prepare soldiers for real combat situations.
The soldiers also undergo increased firing drills while running between obstacles, with a required completion time of under one minute and 45 seconds.
In addition, the soldiers will be trained to handle gun malfunctions during the exercise and to learn how to troubleshoot jammed weapons.
