TAICHUNG (TVBS News) —The annual Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage, one of the largest religious processions in Taiwan, kicked off on Sunday.
On the first day of the 9-day event, over 110,000 devotees commenced their pilgrimage in Miaoli County and arrived in Taichung at noon on the same day.
Notably, Turkish-Taiwanese comedian Uğur Rıfat Karlova was seen among the pilgrims, praying for his homeland.
He was greeted with cheers by the Taiwanese people who expressed concern for Turkey.
