TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tourists holding Taiwanese passports can receive up to US＄100 when visiting Palau from Jan. 4 to March 31.
Self-guided or group tourists can all apply for the subsidy.
Palau has been one of Taiwan's closest diplomatic allies for more than 20 years.
The archipelago is a popular tourist destination for Taiwanese looking for warm weather and water-related activities.
Therefore the Palau government hopes the money can boost tourists' motivation to visit the beautiful islands and shop and eat at local venues.
