TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese and Dutch designers have created the world's most environmentally friendly smartphone. Although the handheld device was released by a Dutch company, the designers behind it were mostly Taiwanese.
The 5G smartphone was named the world's most environmentally friendly phone. The back cover of the smartphone is made of 100% recyclable materials. Users can also easily disassemble and replace the screen, back cover, motherboard, battery, microphone, and more with just a screwdriver.
These features reduce carbon emissions and electronic waste generation. And the phone can last 5 years, which let consumers buy phones less frequently.
Many smartphone companies are also making their products more environmentally friendly, reducing the use of plastic and cooperating the products with more recyclable materials.
