TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Some crew of a South American cargo ship were evacuated in stormy weather off the coast of northern Taiwan on Wednesday (Nov. 30), leaving the captain and two crew members adrift and in danger of sinking, local authorities said.
Footage released by the Coast Guard Administration shows two rescue boats from the "Long Shun" cargo ship that tilted 20 degrees due to unspecified damage. The crew members were rescued by helicopter.
All were brought to safety. The vessel was at risk of sinking, but it successfully made it to Kaohsiung, where it will undergo repairs, the Coast Guard Administration said in a statement.
