TAIPEI (TVBS Taiwan) — Starting on Friday (Dec. 1), face masks are no longer needed in outdoor spaces. Taiwan students will no longer have to wear masks on playgrounds, or open hallways either.
"I'm looking forward to it because wearing a mask is stuffy and hot, just uncomfortable. So, it's better to not wear a mask," saio a Guangfu Elementary School student.
The Ministry of Education has yet to issue official documents to the schools. The details are still under discussion and will be finalized within the following two days, officials said.
Jingmei Girls High School said they will follow the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and not put further restrictions requiring students to wear masks.
Huai Sheng Junior High School also said that it will cooperate with the regulations, but students will be required to wear masks in classrooms.
